- For far too long, Radical Climate Activists attempted to hold our Great Country hostage by drastically and unreasonably expanding the intended scope of the Endangered Species Act. This was complete and total regulatory overreach by unelected bureaucrats! They treated Americans very unfairly by stifling the production of important resources like Oil, Natural Gas, and Timber, and blocking the construction of family homes and critical Infrastructure. Even our Military couldn’t train on land that was deemed “off limits” to protect a little rodent! Now my Administration has returned the Endangered Species Act to how it was intended to be, just as the Great Justice Antonin Scalia has explained in previous cases. I am proud to announce that the House of Representatives has passed the Bill, and it has now gone to the Senate for final approval. People are sick and tired of having to change their clocks twice a year. It is foolish, inconvenient and, in some cases, very costly. For Cities and States with Watchtowers, and hard to reach places, it costs Millions of Dollars. A recent case was made that it is also bad for your health in the anxiety it creates. Leading Medical, Crime, and Economic Studies have shown that ceasing the biannual time change, giving us one extra hour of natural sunlight in the evenings, will help Decrease Robbery and Murder Rates, Reduce Car Accidents (especially those involving Pedestrians!), Lower Risk for Cardiac Issues, Stroke, and Seasonal Depression, Make It Safer for Children to Walk Home from School, Increase Time with your Family, Strongly Support Extracurricular Activities, Boost the Sports, Fitness, Tourism, Retail, and Restaurant Industries (and more!), and Save Money on Energy Bills, because everyone will be enjoying an EXTRA HOUR OF DAYLIGHT. Today we honor the incredible Men and Women of the United States Coast Guard, who protect our Borders, defend our Homeland, save countless American lives, and have done an AMAZING job taking deadly drugs off our streets before they can poison and kill our Citizens. America is SAFER because of their Courage and Devotion. We are very proud of them!
Under my Administration and, with the tremendous leadership of Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, we are rebuilding the Coast Guard like never before. The FIRST of 11 new Arctic Security Cutters that I ordered will be delivered in 2028, ensuring American Strength, Sovereignty, and Security in the Arctic for generations to come.
